A griefer tried to leave a mark on Globeworks — we cleaned it up in minutes. Plus: free starting cash for every settler, calmer nights, airport-grade door security, and we proved our backups actually work.
Day 2 Update
Twenty-four hours in, and Globeworks is already finding its rhythm. Today brought a genuine test of our systems — and a handful of upgrades that make the world a little friendlier (and a little safer) to build in.
Grief and Response
Unfortunately, Day 2 wasn't without incident. A player attempted to grief part of the world and followed it up with threats to do more. It's an unfortunate reality that comes with running an open server — but we're glad to say our staff caught it fast, issued a ban, and had our rollback tooling restore the affected area within minutes. If you spot suspicious activity, report it to staff immediately — the quicker we know, the quicker we can act.
$10,000 Starter Grant for Every Settler
Every new player joining the lobby for the first time — and everyone who already logged in before today — now receives $10,000 to kick-start their Globeworks journey. Whether you're founding a town, stocking up on supplies, or saving toward something bigger, this starter grant (built on our own custom plugin) is there to get you moving from the moment you arrive.
Calmer Nights
We've heard you — night-time mob spawns have been dialled back after one too many surprise ambushes. You should still watch your back after dark, but the odds are a little more in your favour now.
Airport-Style Security Scanners
A brand-new custom plugin brings security scanning doors to Globeworks. Set one up and it'll check a player's inventory before letting them through — think airport security, but for your base. It pairs neatly with our lectern-based scanning system for passports and tickets, so you can build proper checkpoints, borders, or secure vaults with real teeth behind them.
Bug Fixes @@BODY_HTML@@amp; Pointshop Addition
A few small bugs reported by players today were squashed, and we spotted a gap in the Pointshop — Safari Net, our mob-capture plugin, wasn't listed for purchase. That's now fixed, so you can grab one and start capturing mobs of your own.
Backup Recovery, Tested
Behind the scenes, we ran a full test of our disaster recovery process today — restoring and rebuilding an entire server from the latest backup. Total time: around one hour. It's the kind of test we hope we never need in a hurry, but it's good to know that if the worst happens, Globeworks bounces back fast.
That's it for Day 2 — thanks for playing, reporting bugs, and helping us shape the server as we go. See you in-game.
