One full week live, a growing community, new tools, big celebrations, and steady improvements across the globe.

Day 8 Update

Globeworks has officially celebrated its first full week online — and what a week it’s been. We haven’t stood still for a moment. The server continues to grow, evolve, and welcome new players into a friendly, ambitious community that’s shaping a persistent geopolitical world one day at a time.

To mark the occasion, we hosted a major celebration in the Sporting Arena deep in the Sahara Desert. Live music blasted across the dunes, accompanied by a huge laser light show and a fireworks display to thank everyone who’s joined so far — and to celebrate everything still to come.

The football stadium was transformed into a stage and gathering space, with players giving live speeches about the first week. Football (soccer) took a back seat for the night, but the festivities didn’t stop there: both camel racing and ice boat racing events were held, keeping the energy high throughout the celebration.

Looking ahead, we’ll be publishing a weekly player newsletter so everyone can stay up to date with community news and developments. You’ll find this week’s edition directly below this article.

Server Improvements Continue

Even with the celebrations, development hasn’t slowed down. Overnight and throughout today, we’ve made several important updates:

  • Towny Chat Enabled: Essentials Chat was interfering, so we’ve switched fully to Towny Chat.
  • Lobby Chat Updated: Player ranks now display correctly, making it easier to identify staff in the lobby.
  • Towny Nation Allies/Enemies Disabled: Diplomacy now handles all alliances and wars automatically, with full visibility on https://map.globeworks.uk — both in text and through the coloured boundary system.

During the recording of a YouTube short, we spotted a few issues related to vehicles. These have now been resolved to keep everything running smoothly.

LecternScanners Upgrade

Our exclusive LecternScanners plugin received another major update. It now includes:

  • A GUI for easier scanning of passports and tickets
  • A printer GUI for creating new passports or unique tickets
  • Automatic generation of unique IDs for revocation and security
  • Support for border entry, events, and other controlled-access systems

This makes document management far simpler and more powerful for both players and staff.

Website Improvements

We’ve also updated the website to better explain what Globeworks is and what makes it unique compared to other Earth servers. New players should find it easier to understand the world, the systems, and the vision behind the project.

That’s everything for Day 8 — one week down, and many more to come as Globeworks continues to grow, refine, and build a world unlike any other.
