A massive day of new systems, new plugins, world improvements and community growth across Globeworks.

Packed full of changes!

Today has been packed with changes, fixes and brand new features that continue to push Globeworks into territory no other Earth server touches. Here is everything that happened.

Spawners Arrive in the Pointshop

We added spawners to the pointshop, but quickly discovered an issue with how they behaved. So in true Globeworks fashion, we built another unique plugin to solve it.

Introducing SpawnerShop
A custom command driven system that integrates directly into the point store, ensuring players can reliably purchase and receive spawners without any problems.

Seven Wonders and Nation History Improvements

We pushed updates to:

  • Seven Wonders of the World
    Slowed down voting reminders and improved performance.

  • Nation History Book
    More optimisations to keep the system running smoothly as nations grow.

Lectern Scanner Quality of Life Upgrade

The Lectern Scanner (for validating tickets, passports and visas) has been improved. When you place a reusable ticket or passport on the machine, it now automatically returns to your inventory, making the process seamless and fast.

Broadcast Plugin Tweaks and New RTP Command

We reduced logging noise from the server wide broadcast plugin to keep the console cleaner.

We also added /rtp, a random teleport command that sends you somewhere in the wilderness. It includes:

  • A cooldown
  • Anti hit and run protections

Item Mail System Introduced

A brand new item mail plugin is now live, allowing players to send items and messages between nations. This is perfect for diplomacy, trade and roleplay.

Rollercoaster Plugin for the Theme Park

On the tech front, we built a special minecart rollercoaster plugin for the upcoming theme park area. It includes:

  • Boosts
  • Brakes
  • Cart lock and unlock
  • Full ride control

You will be able to see this in action once the coaster is complete.

Emerald Chest: Overpowered Custom Equipment

Starting tomorrow, a unique set of overpowered custom equipment will be available via the emerald chest in the lobby.

To access it:

  • Buy a key from https://store.globeworks.uk
  • Open the chest for a chance at ultra rare gear
  • If you get a duplicate and can prove it, we will swap the duplicate for another key to help you complete the collection

This system is powered by yet another bespoke Globeworks plugin and a brand new custom item editor.

Wonders of the World: Third Nomination

We received our third nomination for a world wonder, with a few days left to vote.
If your build becomes a wonder and stays in the top seven, you receive:

  • A reward on acceptance
  • A daily reward for owning a world wonder

We are now two players short of 70 unique players.

Minor Griefing Incident Resolved

We had a small griefing issue earlier this week, which was handled quickly and professionally by the staff team. Hopefully the player returns with a better outlook and joins the community spirit.
