Keep Inventory Tokens Guide
Optional tokens that protect your inventory when you die. One token is used per protected death — a fair alternative to permanent keep-inventory for everyone.
By default, dying drops your items like normal Minecraft. A keep-inventory token is a single-use protection: if you have at least one token and the death is eligible, your items stay with you and one token is removed from your balance.
| Situation | What happens |
|---|---|
| You have tokens and die (eligible cause) | Inventory is kept. Balance goes down by 1. You see a short confirmation message. |
| You have no tokens | Inventory drops as normal. |
| Death cause is not covered | Inventory drops as normal, even if you have tokens (e.g. some void deaths may be excluded). |
Tokens are not a permanent perk — each protected death spends one. Buy more when your balance runs low.
You can buy keep-inventory tokens in two places:
- In-game point shop — use /pointshop (or the server’s point shop command) and look for the keep-inventory token package.
- Web store — store.globeworks.uk. Purchase a token pack; tokens are granted to your account when the store delivers the package.
Good to know:
- Tokens are tied to your player account and work across the network worlds that use this system.
- If you buy on the store while offline or on another server, the balance updates when you next play on a server that has the tokens system.
- Bundles (e.g. 5 tokens) add that many to your balance in one go.
- /keepinvShow how many keep-inventory tokens you have left
Your balance may also appear on scoreboards or TAB if the server shows the keep-inventory placeholder.
Depending on server settings, tokens may work in one of two ways:
| Mode | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Auto | Any eligible death automatically uses a token if you have one. No extra step. |
| Opt-in | You must arm yourself first. Until you do, inventory drops normally even if you have tokens. |
- /keepinv toggleArm or disarm token use (only matters in opt-in mode)
When armed, the next eligible death will consume a token and protect your inventory. When disarmed, deaths drop items as usual and your balance is left alone.
Tip: In opt-in mode, arm before risky trips (nether, PvP, long caves) and disarm if you prefer not to spend tokens on casual play.
Most common deaths can use a token when the server has them enabled, for example:
- Player PvP
- Mobs
- Fall, drowning, starvation
- Fire and lava
- Other general causes
Some causes may be turned off on purpose — for example void deaths are often excluded so intentional void jumps do not burn tokens. If a death is not eligible, your items drop and your token balance does not change.
- Token used: You keep your items and see a message with your remaining balance.
- No tokens left: You get a message that nothing was protected and loot drops as normal.
XP and other vanilla rules follow the server’s normal death behaviour unless a token protected the inventory itself.
- /keepinvCheck token balance
- /keepinv toggleArm or disarm (opt-in mode only)
- Buy: /pointshop or store.globeworks.uk
- One death = one token when protection applies
- No tokens = normal drops
- Keep a few tokens for boss fights, nether trips, or PvP — not only for everyday mining.
- Check /keepinv before a dangerous session so you know whether you are covered.
- In opt-in mode, remember to /keepinv toggle on before the risk, and off if you want to save tokens.
- Store purchases and point-shop packs both add to the same balance.
- Tokens do not stop you dying — they only protect what you were carrying when the death is eligible.
