Nation Command Guard Guide

Some nations and towns limit certain commands while visitors are inside their land. Residents are never affected. Town and nation leaders can set up and manage those rules.

The Basics

Nations (and optionally individual towns) can turn on a command guard for their territory. While it is active:

  • Residents of that nation or town are unaffected — their commands work as normal.
  • Visitors (anyone who is not a resident) may find some commands blocked while they are standing inside the claimed land.

The goal is to stop outsiders using flight, teleports, or other shortcuts inside someone else’s territory, not to lock down normal play for members.

Who Is Affected?
You are…What happens
A resident of the town/nationNothing — the guard does not apply to you.
A visitor inside the landBlocked commands will not run until you leave the territory.
Outside the territoryNo restriction from this system.

If a town has its own settings, those take priority over the nation’s settings while you are in that town. Otherwise the nation’s rules apply across all of its towns.

What Commands Might Be Blocked?

Each nation or town chooses its own list. Common examples of commands that visitors often cannot use inside guarded land include:

  • Flight-related commands
  • Teleport, home, warp, and similar travel commands
  • God mode, heal, vanish, and other combat or utility shortcuts
  • Opening ender chests or player vaults remotely
  • Nickname and kit commands

Not every nation blocks the same things. Some block almost nothing; others are stricter. If a command fails with a message about the area or command guard, that is this system at work.

Commands that usually still work:

  • Chat, private messages, and replies
  • Mail, help, player list
  • Balance and pay

These are kept available so visitors can still communicate and handle basic economy actions.

Entering and Leaving

When you walk into or out of guarded land you may see a short message, title, or other notice. That is normal — the area is telling you that its rules are active (or that you have left them).

There is a short cooldown when you cross borders repeatedly. That stops the system from firing over and over if you stand on the edge and step in and out. Wait a few seconds if enter/exit messages seem to pause.

If a Command Is Blocked
  1. Move outside the claimed land (or leave the town/nation borders).
  2. Try the command again once you are in wilderness or your own territory.

Residents of that nation or town are never blocked by their own guard. If you are a member and still see blocks, you may be standing in a different town’s land that has its own stricter rules.

For Town & Nation Owners

If you lead a town or nation and have the right permission, you can control which commands visitors may use inside your land.

Create your guard

You need a guard profile before anything else:

  • /ncg create nationCreate a guard for your whole nation (applies to all member towns)
  • /ncg create townCreate a guard for your town only (overrides the nation while active)

Town settings take priority over nation settings when both exist and the town guard is active.

Open the management GUI

  • /ncgOpen the Command Guard GUI

From the GUI you can add or remove blocked commands, and manage enter/exit actions. To add a command, use the add option and type the command name in chat (or type cancel to back out). Left-click a listed command to remove it.

Turn the guard on, off, or pause it

  • /ncg enableTurn the guard on
  • /ncg disableTurn the guard off completely
  • /ncg pauseTemporarily pause without wiping your settings
  • /ncg unpauseResume after a pause
  • /ncg infoSee the current status and settings

Blocked commands

These are the commands visitors cannot run while inside your land. Use the command name without the leading slash.

  • /ncg blocked listShow the current blocked list
  • /ncg blocked add <command>Add a command to the block list
  • /ncg blocked remove <command>Remove a command from the block list

Examples that many leaders use for a typical visitor lockdown:

  • fly — blocks flight commands
  • tp, tpa, home, warp, back — travel and teleport shortcuts
  • god, heal, vanish — combat and utility advantages
  • playervaults, ec — remote storage
  • kit, nick — kits and nicknames

You can also block only a subcommand (for example fly on still allows fly off). Prefer simple command roots so aliases are covered cleanly.

On-enter and on-exit actions

Optional lists of things that run when a visitor walks in or out of your land (for example a welcome message).

  • /ncg enter listShow enter actions
  • /ncg enter add <command…>Add an enter action
  • /ncg enter remove <command…>Remove an enter action
  • /ncg exit listShow exit actions
  • /ncg exit add <command…>Add an exit action
  • /ncg exit remove <command…>Remove an exit action

A simple, safe option is a notify message:

  • /ncg enter add notify Welcome to %area%Shows a message when a visitor enters

%area% is replaced with the town or nation name. Keep enter/exit lists light — they are for notices and small effects, not full server commands.

Good to know as an owner:

  • Your own residents are never blocked by your guard.
  • Town settings override nation settings when the town guard is active.
  • Pause is useful for events: turn the guard off temporarily without deleting your lists.
  • Do not block basic chat or payment commands if you want visitors to be able to talk and trade.
Quick Reference

As a visitor or resident

  • Residents: Guard does not apply to you inside your own nation/town.
  • Visitors: Some commands may be blocked only while you stand inside the claimed land.
  • Chat and basic commands: Usually still work so you can talk and pay people.
  • Leave the land: Restrictions end as soon as you step outside.

As a town or nation owner

  • /ncg create nationCreate nation-wide guard
  • /ncg create townCreate town-only guard
  • /ncgOpen the management GUI
  • /ncg enable / disable / pause / unpauseControl whether the guard is active
  • /ncg blocked add|remove|listManage blocked commands
  • /ncg enter / exit add|remove|listManage enter/exit actions
  • /ncg infoView current status
Tips
  • If you need to teleport or fly as a visitor, do it from outside the nation’s claims.
  • Standing on the border and stepping in and out can delay enter/exit messages — wait a few seconds.
  • Different nations set different rules; what works in one place may be blocked in another.
  • Owners: start with a short block list (fly, teleports, god/heal) and expand only if you need stricter control.
  • Owners: use pause for public events so visitors can use normal commands for a while without rebuilding your lists.
